The ADC candidate for Eti-Osa Constituency 2, Ayodele Adio, has rewarded winners of a football competition in victoria island with cash and gift items, urging young people to embrace hard work, discipline and community development.
Adio, who presented the prizes to the winners, said sports could play an important role in empowering young people, building character and strengthening community relationships.
He encouraged the young footballers to see their success as a motivation to work harder, stressing that talent alone was not enough to achieve lasting success.
“Talent is important, but talent without discipline and hard work will not take you very far. You must remain committed, disciplined and willing to improve every day,” Adio said.
He urged the players to also recognise their responsibility to their communities, saying young people have an important role to play in building safer and prosperous communities.
