About Ayodele
Who is Ayodele Adio?
Ayodele Adio is a community leader and communicator who has lived and worked in Eti-Osa for a decade. Born in Kano and educated across Nigeria, he founded Adio Strategy and Communications and the Lekki Post, a free community newspaper, and serves on the board of Ray of Hope Prison Outreach. Read his full story on Meet Ayodele.
Which office is he running for?
The Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Eti-Osa Constituency II.
What will he focus on?
Six commitments: fair rents and affordable housing; efficient and affordable public transport; a ₦50 billion Creative Economy Fund; public parks and youth centres; childcare support for working mothers; and legal protection for young people. Each one is explained on The Issues.
Why is rent at the centre of the campaign?
Because, in Ayodele’s words, “when rent takes more than half of your income, you cannot build wealth. You cannot save. You cannot plan.” He is running to fight for fairer rents, cap excessive agency and legal fees, strengthen tenancy protections and expand affordable housing for working people.
Getting involved
How do I join the movement?
Fill in the Join Our Movement form. Tell us where you live and how you would like to help: canvassing, voter registration, social media, events, your professional skills or your community network.
What happens after I apply?
You will get an email confirming that we received your application, with a reference number. A member of the campaign team will contact you within 3 business days to talk about the best way for you to take part. The confirmation is not an automatic acceptance.
Do I need experience?
No. Whether you can give one hour a week or ten, whether you are a student or a professional, whether you have done this before or this is your first time, there is a place for you. Canvassers and voter registration volunteers receive training and materials.
Do I need to live in Eti-Osa?
The campaign is powered by residents of Eti-Osa, but supporters elsewhere in Lagos, across Nigeria and abroad can still help: online, with professional skills or by spreading the word. Tell us where you are in the form.
How can I invite Ayodele to an event or interview him?
Use the contact form and choose “Invite Ayodele to an event” or “Press and media”. Include the date, place and audience.
